Self-care means something different for everyone.  It can mean anything from spending an entire afternoon at the beach, to just spending a few minutes rearranging the items on your desk.  Here's our 5 simple self-care routines that you can do to help rejuvenate and relax today.

1). Brush up on you feng shui and perhaps do a little rearranging. Have you ever heard of the term, “empowered position?” It means positioning furniture (i.e. sofas and beds) to face the main entrance of each room, but not directly aligned with it. You’ll feel more comfortable and protected sitting in furniture placed in the empowered position, and you’ll even notice guests gravitate more towards these seating positions. 2). Enjoy a DIY face steam treatment. This one’s our favorite for a Saturday night-in. Fill a bowl with boiling water and grab a towel to create a curtain around your head. Hold your face over the steam for 90 seconds to 2 minutes. Take a 1 to 2 minute break, and then return your face to the steam. Repeat the process for a total of 5 2-minute steamings, Follow your face steam up with a natural face mask.  For an overall face cleansing and toning mask we recommend the Aztec Secret. It’s our favorite, and it's inexpensive.

3). Create a dream board. You have two options for this - the classic way using magazines, scissors, and glue.

…or the new-aged way using Pinterest, screenshotting, and a photo collage app. Screen shot images that resonate with you and put them into a collage app like BeFunky. Save it somewhere where you’ll see it frequently and be reminded of your short-term and long-term goals.

4. Take a nap or go to bed early. Make sleep a priority for self-care days. Taking a day to detox from caffeine is probably best, but for some of us that’s impossible. So, instead of taking that afternoon latte, go with a 10-minute reading session followed up by a solid and rejuvenating nap.  Anything is possible if you prioritize.

5. Download and explore the app Calm. You’ll find guided meditations, bedtime stories (for adults), and programs like “7 Days of Managing Stress.” We played around on the app for over a year before deciding to purchase the premium version. It's worth it.
